This is the 3rd year for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon and the popularity continues to increase for this women’s themed race. The addition of the 10K race will draw even more runners to Disneyland in early January to fly through the parks. Unfortunately, runDisney will not be adding a new challenge this weekend for those who want to participate in both the 10K and half marathon. My theory on this is because the 10K races were selling out too fast due to the challenges and they wanted to allow for more participation for those looking for a shorter distance. This hasn’t been confirmed, but makes sense on why there is no challenge for this weekend.
Pricing for the events are as follows:
Tinker Bell Half Marathon
- $175 by August 13, 2013
- $190 between August 14 and October 15, 2013
- $205 on or after October 16, 2013
Tinker Bell 10K
- $95 by August 13, 2013
- $110 between August 14 and October 15, 2013
- $125 on or after October 16, 2013
Never Land Family Fun Run 5K

runDisney Kids Races

Similar to the Princess Half Marathon, runners can register as a 2-person team for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. (There is no team division for the Tinker Bell 10K). Runners must register individually for the race and then sign up as a tea. There is no confirmation on the price, but it is probably somewhere around an additional $15 like Princess. The same commemorative sash and a special team photo area at the expo will be available with the team registration as an additional perk.
The Tinker Bell Half Marathon Expo will open at 2:00 pm on January 16th in the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall and remain open through the 18th. You must visit the Expo to pick up your race packet and it’s the only place you can get official race merchandise.
If you’re looking for some added Disney fun before the race, the Pasta Party is a great way to get those carbs in. This family oriented event includes a buffet pasta dinner and various character interactions with photo ops. The location is still TBD, but last year the event was held at the Disneyland Hotel.
For all of you amazing spectators out there, there are various ChEAR Squad packages available for you to support your runners! The ChEAR Squad areas will be open from 5:00 am – 9:15 am on Sunday, January 19th. You can view the details of the various packages here and pricing is as follows:
- Bronze Package No Charge
- Silver Package $39
- Gold Package – $119
- Platinum Package – $154
And don’t forget, if you are participating in any of the Walt Disney World races in 2014 you will be eligible for the coveted Coast-to-Coast Medal! But only if you are running both the Tinker Bell Half Marathon and the Princess Half Marathon will you get the all new pink Coast-to-Coast!
This race sells out very quickly, so if you are interested in participating don’t hesitate! Visit the runDisney event page for all the additional information you need on the weekend including transportation, hotels, etc… Oh and don’t forget to check out RAD Reader Christina’s recap of the Never Land Family Fun 5K from this year to get you excited for the races!
Will YOU be flying through Disneyland with Tinker Bell in January? What do you think about there not being a challenge for the 10K and half marathon?
