Summer is here!! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be able to wear tank tops and flip flops on the regular. Woohoo!
It’s been a fun week. After returning from Vermont, I jumped right back into my training but also had some awesome culinary adventures. I dove into the goodies we brought home and made a few delicious meals.

On Friday, B and I went to our favorite restaurant Caseus in New Haven. Jason gave us a tour of their rooftop garden (super cool!) and I had some delicious Rohan Duck!

And finally Saturday, I met my friend Ali at Barcelona in New Haven for a girls dinner. If you don’t follow Ali on Instagram, you should…she’s quite inspiring! We stuffed our faces like proper ladies should 🙂

Rum, Fresh Blackberries, Vermouth, Ginger, Mint & Lime Juice

This week I also FINALLY booked our flights to California for Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, which has gotten me insanely excited to start planning! So I obviously had to run out and buy this:

The CrossFit WODs were killer this week and I think I used my weight in chalk to get through them…

My scheduled 5 mile run for yesterday didn’t happen, but I got it in today. Oh and it was a hot one!

I have a real problem with getting up early on the weekends to get my longer runs in. This is worse in the summer when it’s necessary to do so because of the heat. I like to sleep in and cuddle with the kitties on the weekend! Well today I didn’t get out until about 10:45 am and I definitely paid for it. The heat was a killer and my pace was WAY slower because of it. I really have to work on this!
A wrench is going to get thrown into my training this week because I’ll be traveling for a work conference for 3 days, but hopefully the hotel gym with be sufficient to get a good WOD in! I’m going to do my best to roll with the punches…
Fun stuff coming up this week on RAD…info on the runDisney Coast to Coast Challenge, a visit to Coral Reef Restaurant, and maybe I’ll start my Disneyland planning! Have a great week 🙂
How do you get up early on the weekends to run?
Thanks for sharing. I loved Jess’ post too.
