It’s been hard be back to reality this week, but I’ve pretty much managed to get back into my daily routine. It snowed AGAIN here in CT, but thankfully it didn’t stick around long since it’s been in the 50s this weekend! Crazy…

Today I’m headed to the New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade for some fun with my CrossFit girls. It’s bound to be full of ridiculousness so make sure to follow along on Instagram 🙂
I’ve had some fun stuff going up on RAD this week, including my Princess recap. Here’s what you might have missed:
- Find Your Strong with Saucony Virrata
- A Sparkly Soul Giveaway (winner announced below!)
- 2013 Disney’s Princess Half Marathon: Race Recap
- Friday Feast: A Culinary Adventure at Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival
Now let’s check out some RAD Reads I found this week!
First, if you are a fan of posting pictures on social media like I am, you need to read these 2 posts from SoCal Runner Gal and Gabby’s Gluten-Free about the reality behind your photos. I LOVE this and will absolutely be doing a post like Gabby’s in the future 🙂

I’ve been wanting to get a foam roller for a while to use at home, so I went to Sports Authority yesterday to get one and was shocked to find out they cost $30. Really?? $30 for a piece of foam?? That’s a little ridiculous. At CrossFit, we use PVC pipes for rollers, so I headed on over to Home Depot and got this pre-cut 2 foot piece of PVC pipe for $6. Hell yeah…getting sports equipment at a hardware store!

I just realized from this picture that the pipe says “Not For Pressure.” Oh well!
And last but certainly not least…the winner of my Sparkly Soul Giveaway!!! I used random.org to select a winner from the comments on the original post to select the winner.
And the winner is….
Heather!
Congratulations Heather! You’ve won one thin and one wide head band in your choice of colors. Go to sparklysoul.com and choose your colors and I will be in touch to get your mailing info.
As an added bonus, the awesome folks at Sparkly Soul are giving all you RAD readers a 10% discount on all orders placed between now and March 17th! Just use the code RAD when you check out!
Thank you so much to everyone that participated in the contest! It has been amazing reading all of the ways you find your sparkle. I’m going to put those comments together and share it on the blog so everyone can find the inspiration I have from all of you! Thanks for being so awesomely RAD!
Thanks for including my post in the Weekly Reads! Have fun at the St. Patrick’s Day parade!
Of course!
$30 is alot for a foam roller unless it’s one of those “specialty” ones. I thought someone had told me Target had them for around $14. Try looking there.
Cool thanks for the tip!
Man! I just ordered a sparkly to try out! Missed the awesome discount!
Oh no!!! Maybe contact them to see if they can apply it?
Either way you’re going to love it 🙂
I’m borrowing your weekly recap review if you don’t mind!
Of course! Look forward to your recaps 🙂
Thanks for including our post! Loved your PVC roller purchase! I bought an expensive foam roller, but it does gets daily use and I was not smart enough to think of PVC!
Pam that’s what we use at CrossFit so I can’t take the credit of coming up with the idea 😉
