Happy Thanksgiving and Stuff

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well this certainly snuck up on us, huh??  I can’t remember a year that has gone by as fast as 2012.  Wasn’t I just cooking a turkey??  Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite holidays.  It’s relaxed, full of good food, laughs with family and of course that awesome 4-day weekend.

This has been an amazing year for me and I have so much to be thankful for.  I’m sure you’ve had your fill of “what I’m thankful for” posts already so I won’t bore you with a long list of mine.  But a short list is definitely in order 🙂  So here is what I’m thankful for this year…

1. My Legs

Even though they have plagued me with many injuries this year, I am very thankful for my legs.  They are thick, strong and have carried me through 3 half marathons this year.  They have taken a beating, but can still manage to dead lift 143 pounds and counting.  I can’t wait to see what adventures they will take me on next year!

2. My Friends

Both old and new, I have amazing friends.  I have been lucky to find people who are understanding, kind and caring to fill my life with.  I am thankful to have formed incredible lifelong bonds through running, fitness, food and Disney (all of my favorite things!) that I never could have imagined possible this past year.  You know who you are and you have all touched my life in ways that I don’t think I could ever express to you in words. xo

3. My Readers

Hey that’s you!  Without you reading this little blog and interacting with me on a daily basis, I wouldn’t have the continued drive to keep striving to do my best for you everyday.  I’m so thankful for all of the wonderful people I have met this year both in person and online through this blog.  We all have a common bond here and it is always refreshing to find people who understand this crazy passion of Disney and running.  Thank you for coming back on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to read my not so eloquent words, inspire me and give me motivation to Keep Moving Forward.

4. My Cats

I mean really, how can you not LOVE these guys.  They make me smile on a constant basis.  From the moment I wake up, to when I get home from work, to the time I fall asleep, these two are there and ready to cuddle.  No matter how bad my day has been, they will do something silly to make me laugh or know the right way to curl up next to me so I relax.  Simply the best.

5. My Family

I would be nothing without them.  My family is so supportive of everything I do and I couldn’t be more thankful for their love.  My mom is always there to listen to my crazy ideas or about my bad day at work and is also the strongest woman I know.  My dad reads my blog everyday and is always encouraging me in my running.  My stepmom is my sounding board for new recipes and always has great advice.  And then there is my hubs, B.  My number one cheerleader, my sanity, my best friend, the love of my life.  I would NEVER have been able to take this journey this year without his love and support and for that, I am forever thankful.

So there’s my top five…that was hard to get through without tearing up a bit.  I’m such a sap!  Ok now enough of this emotional stuff…let’s go eat some turkey and drink some wine!  That’s REALLY what Thanksgiving is about, right?!?
