This weekend I had the AWESOME opportunity to volunteer and judge at The Garage Games. My CrossFit box, CrossFit Milford, was the host for the competition and I jumped on the opportunity to participate right away! I’ll have a full post coming up this week, but here are some photos from the seriously awesome displays of fitness that I saw this weekend!
I know I’ve been talking up CrossFit a lot lately, but this competition solidified my dedication to the sport. These athletes were so impressive to watch. They come in all shapes and sizes, all abilities, and and all ages. It proves that hard work, dedication, and simply putting mind over matter can achieve amazing results. I’m not sure I’ll ever participate in one of these competitions, but I’m going to keep working at getting stronger! Congrats to all the competitors this weekend 🙂

Eating WDW had the difficult job of sampling some of the new drinks on the lounge menus at Walt Disney World. I think I need to try the Forever Young next time I’m in the World.
WDW for Grownups reports on a new “Magic Band” that may be replacing actual park tickets in the future. Is this the next step in the Next Gen project?

Because I was at the Garage Games for most of the day on Saturday, I postponed my Saturday run until today. I took my new Mizuno Wave Creation 13s for a spin and I really liked them! They are my first neutral pair of shoes and I could definitely feel a difference. My stride was a bit different and I could feel it in my calves towards the end of the 6 miles. I want to go for a few more runs in them and then make final judgement, but so far so good. Loving the color too 🙂

Clearly I need to step up my marathon training since the WDW Marathon is only about 80 days away. I’m a few weeks behind on my training schedule and I’m not getting the weekly runs in that I should. Goals for this week: 3 days of CrossFit, a 30 minute run and a 14-miler. I’m going to have to start doubling up my short weekday runs with my CrossFit training if I want to fit this all in with proper rest time. Time to hunker down and really commit for the next few months. Who else is training for a marathon? How is your training going?
