Meals and Miles attended a Brooks information session. It’s like every running geek’s dream! She also attended a SoulCycle class that is a combination of Spinning and a full body toning workout. Given my love of Spinning I really want to give this a try!

Studios Central has been celebrating International Studios Awareness all week, so make sure to check out all of the amazing articles featuring Disney Hollywood Studios. The coolest thing they put out was this Choose Your Own Star Tours Adventure! I can finally get my perfect ride!
This Happy Place Blog are back from their Disney Cruise on the Magic from NYC where they got to attend a presentation from Jason Surrell (!!!!) on his involvement with reimagineering Star Tours: The Adventure Continues. Well that is just too cool!
Da Mouse has been putting out some AMAZING photos and videos of the opening of Cars Land in Disney California Adventure this week. Take some time to go through the 10-part series on their blog…trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Imagineering Disney has put together a very cool Then and Now photo comparison of Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. It’s so interesting to see how the landscaping has changed.

Last week I had this great goal of getting back to exercising 4-5 times per week. What is that they say about the best laid plans?? Monday morning I woke up congested, but physically felt ok. I had planned to go Spinning that night after work, but as the day went on I was feeling worse. Fast forward to Tuesday morning when I wake up with intense sinus pressure and no ability to breathe through my nose. Oh hello sinus infection…ugh. I stayed home and went right to the doctor to get some antibiotics. I didn’t want to prolong this thing. Needless to say, I didn’t do much of anything this week, but I finally ran again yesterday and felt really good. Woohoo!
Here’s my week in non-training:
Wednesday: Still sickly
Thursday: On the mend
Friday: Last day of rest
Saturday: 2.75 miles
Oh and have you heard…I signed up for the 20th Walt Disney World Marathon on Friday!!! Aaaaaahhhhh!!! I am really excited about this, but a bit nervous at the same time. I have a long road of training ahead and I’m starting this week. I’ll post my training schedule once I get it finalized. I’m going to be following a Jeff Galloway program, since they seem to work really well for me. I also need to incorporate some serious toning exercises to get the rest of my body in shape for this challenge. I’ve heard that Tone It Up! has great programs, so I might give that a try. Any other suggestions for toning plans/workouts? Have you tried Tone It Up!?
Ideally, I’d like to lose at least 20 pounds before the race because it would be a lot easier to carry 20 pounds less across that finish line. I think it will also help me be more confident in my training and allow me to push myself further. I’ve already dropped a few pounds this week as I’ve been sick because I’m eating healthier and I haven’t had any alcohol. Well that was until yesterday, when I visited my Dad and had a hot dog, chips and cake. We were celebrating Father’s Day (hi Dad!), my cousin’s high school graduation (go Megan!), and my uncles birthday so I think it was allowed…right??? And this is what I did for the rest of the day besides eat…
Yes, I did get on one of those floats and it was awesome!
And just to make you a little bit jealous…my Dad made one of his famous breakfast’s this morning. Yes, it’s Father’s Day but that doesn’t stop him from killing it in the kitchen. What a great way to finish a not so great week!
Training starts tomorrow with Spinning to ease back into the swing of things. Here’s hoping this all works out! Hope you all have a wonderful week 🙂
