Registration is Now Open for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend

Registration is now open for the 2nd Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!  The race weekend will take place January 18 – 20, 2013, only 1 week following Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.  This is a fun race full of sassy, winged runners flying through the Disneyland parks and the streets of Anaheim.

This is a great opportunity to get one of those coveted Coast to Coast medals if you are planning on running a Walt Disney World race later in the year.  You know you want one…I know I do!  Also taking place that weekend on Saturday, January 19th are the Never Land Family Fun Run 5K and various kids races. These are a fun way for the whole family to get involved in the weekend.  The 5K will be run through the Disneyland parks, which the dashed are in Downtown Disney next door.

Pricing for the events are as follows:

Tinker Bell Half Marathon

  • $150 by July 17, 2012
  • $165 between July 18 and September 4, 2012
  • $180 on or after September 5, 2012

Tinker Bell Half Marathon Team Category

  • $300 by July 17, 2012
  • $330 between July 18 and September 4, 2012
  • $360 on or after September 5, 2012

Never Land Family Fun Run 5K

  • $65 per participant

runDisney Kids’ Races

  • $20 per child

The Tinker Bell Half Marathon Expo will be open on January 18 & 19, 2013 in the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall.  You must visit the Expo to pick up your race packet and it is also a good opportunity to pick up all of that fab race weekend merchandise.  They had some pretty great Dooney & Bourke bags last year!

I wish I could make this race…it looks so fun!  I would love to through on a pair of wings and soar through Disneyland, but the Walt Disney World Marathon is calling my name.  I hope in the future, runDisney puts some additional time between these races.  As always, visit the runDisney event page for more information on all of the events taking place that weekend.

Remember to follow the “second start to the right and straight on til morning” to find the finish line!

  • I did Tink last year and there were 2 weeks between Marathon weekend and Tink. I’m sad they moved it because now it’s just too much to do both. Tink is a great race, though. I highly recommend it. I think it might be my favorite Disney race. If I wasn’t doing Goofy, I would definitely be there!

    • Favorite race…wow! Why do you think it was your favorite? Was it the course, the atmosphere, etc…?
I hope they space them apart in the future as well. I’d like to be able to do both.

      • My very first half marathon was the Disneyland Half in 2010. I’ve since run it again, done Princess, WDW Half and the WDW Relay and Tink.

Since DL was my first one, I think I have a special fondess for their races. Until Tink, DL was my favorite. I know many, many people love the WDW races better and I understand why, but here are a few reasons why I love running at DL better:

        1. Logistics. If you stay anywhere close to DL property, you can walk to the start line, which is infintely better than getting on a bus at 3 something at WDW and STILL having that long walk to get to the start.

        2. I get really bored on the WDW highways. Anaheim isn’t overly scenic, but the course support is so much better. Locals come out from everywhere to cheer you on and that is really the best part.

        3. Running through Angel Stadium is ah-may-zing. (but they don’t offer that at Tink)

I think Tinkerbell wins over DL because it’s in January rather than Sept. and much cooler. The course is very different than the DL Half, which I like better, giving the runners more time on Disney property. And it’s TINKERBELL! Which is just as cool as the Princess Half.

Wow, sorry for hijacking your page with this uninvited guest post! LOL!

        • Thanks for all of the info! I never thought about the fact that locals can come out an cheer you on in Anaheim and I’m sure that really does make a difference compared to the relatively closed course in WDW. I hope to get out there and run a DL race in the future. Right now I have my sight on the 2013 DL Half…seems to work into my race schedule the best 🙂
