Welcome to Running At Disney!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ve created this is a site to share my long time passion for Disney and my newfound passion of running. I hope you’ll join me on my journey as I work towards becoming a better runner, share some tips, spread some pixie dust and try to have some fun along the way. I’m now just under two months away from the Princess Half Marathon, which will be my first big race. I have three 5K’s under my belt, but this is a whole new ballgame. I’m already getting nervous about those long 13.1 miles, but I’m also a bit excited to get out there. With every mile I run, I feel closer to crossing that finish line and that finishing is really possible.
Today I am recovering from the holiday season craziness and weeks of really bad eating habits. Somehow I’ve managed to keep up with my training minus a few sore muscles here and there, which is actually quite amazing. Tomorrow I start my yearly New Year’s detox cleanse to hopefully get my system back on track before this race. The plan is to cut out processed foods, gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol for a minimum of three weeks. Sounds impossible right? I’m not saying it’s easy and I’m sure there will be a lot of complaining this week, but this will be my third year doing a cleanse and I’m always amazed at how incredible I feel afterwards. However I do have a Disney trip coming up at the end of the month to throw a wrench in the plan because I’m a sucker for some Mickey waffles!
