Amazingly Sparkly Inspiration!

When I held my Sparkly Soul giveaway last week, I asked you to tell me how you find your sparkle.  Sparkle can be a metaphor for happiness, strength, motivation, positivity…you name it!  I was completely overwhelmed by all of the responses I received (I guess you all really wanted those Sparkly Soul headbands!) and I wanted to share all of the inspiration you gave me with everyone else.  I hope you all remember…

I find my sparkle by pushing my limits and achieving things I never thought I could!  Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could complete a marathon.  But I did!  Dead lift 210 lbs??  I did that too.  Run a sub-40 minute 5K??  Yeah I totally killed that time.

Now let’s see how you find your sparkle!  I hope you find this as motivating as I have 🙂

Sarah: Helping others, especially with food allergies helps me find my sparkle  It’s become a passion of mine for the last 4 years and has helped me personally feel my inner sparkle, which 4 years ago seemed slightly dimmed after having been diagnosed with Crohn’s & food allergies. It’s been a great way to re-channel that energy into helping others.

Carrie B.: I find my sparke through running and my two beautiful boys!

Heather: I did my sparky on a sun and warm day at the beach. But that doesn’t happen very often so my lil one provides the sparkly every day!

I lost a bit of me. But I stared working out again, and then found running, motivated by the princess half (completed my first half this year !!!) I am finding my sparkle getting brighter with every mile I run. And every race I run!!!

This week has been rough with work and I knew it wasn’t going to get better so every morning I’ve made myself a favorite breakfast and then after work done something just for me. I think finding my sparkle comes a little different each day. Running at Disney has been definitely added to my list of sparkle this year as I just ran my first race The Princess Half. I am now addicted and going through Disney withdrawls lol so I’m looking to sign up for the Tower of Terror 10 miler for some more *sparkle*

Marcellina: I sparkle by getting my run on! I don’t sweat, I sparkle. I also sparkle when I see my 2 year old son smile at me.. nothing like the unconditional love from a little one!

Ashley B.: I find my sparkle in so many things — my 8-month old son, my husband, my friends, and in all the little things in life. I stay motivated to run by continuing to sign up for fun races!

Vicki: I find my sparkle by getting outdoors. A hard day at work, a stressful time in life, and it all goes away once I’ve hiked into the woods or catch my groove out on my bike. I’m extra sparkly when I can share it with my awesome family and friends.

Kristina: I find my sparkle in making lemonade out of life’s lemons. A little bit of sparkle can be found in each moment of each day

Dani: I find my sparkle through running and helping others!

Laura: I find my sparkle by volunteering for races – it’s great inspiration for me to put in more miles!

Monday: CrossFit: Power Cleans, KB Swings, Push Ups & Row
Tuesday: CrossFit: Squats, squats and more squats
Wednesday: Rest due to a dentist appointment
Thursday: CrossFit: Snatches, Wall Balls, Push Ups & Air Dyne
Friday: Snow Shoveling
Saturday: Rest

I’ve been wanting to get a foam roller for a while to use at home, so I went to Sports Authority yesterday to get one and was shocked to find out they cost $30.  Really??  $30 for a piece of foam??  That’s a little ridiculous.  At CrossFit, we use PVC pipes for rollers, so I headed on over to Home Depot and got this pre-cut 2 foot piece of PVC pipe for $6.  Hell yeah…getting sports equipment at a hardware store!

$6 PVC Pipe FTW!

I just realized from this picture that the pipe says “Not For Pressure.”  Oh well!

And last but certainly not least…the winner of my Sparkly Soul Giveaway!!!  I used random.org to select a winner from the comments on the original post to select the winner.

A Sparkly Soul Giveaway!

I have recently become obsessed with headbands.  I always wear them to work out, but recently I love wearing them all the time.  This is why I was so excited when I discovered Sparkly Soul!

SS

Sparkly Soul headbands provide you with 360 degrees of pure sparkle and are stretchy all the way around so they fit comfortably on your head without giving you that “headband headache.”  They also don’t slip while you’re exercising…really they don’t!  I wanted to test them out before I made this claim, so I wore the bands for the runDisney Princess Meet Up and the Princess Half Marathon recently.  They totally stayed put for both events!

Besides staying put for exercise, I think my favorite thing about these headbands is that they are super cute to wear out to dinner or just to run errands.  For someone with shorter hair, this is a great way to keep it out of my face on the go!
