I want to start by congratulating everyone who ran one of the races over Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend!! I’ve had a blast following along and have some great guest recaps coming up in the next few weeks, including one from Jenny who completed her first half marathon and runDisney race…CONGRATS!!
I’ve spent the past week with my favorite people at one of my favorite places, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. It was relaxing, fun and full of laughs. This is a trip I look forward every year and I am so lucky to get to spend this quality time with my friends…I hope there will always be Days Like This 🙂
Before heading home, B and I spent a night in Walt Disney World at Bay Lake Tower. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen all of the fun I had in the Magic Kingdom for a few short hours, followed by dinner at California Grill and Wishes! from the Top of the World. What a great day!
After we returned to Connecticut yesterday afternoon, we stopped by the grand opening of Black Hog Brewing Co. before heading home. Our friends from Caseus in New Haven started this awesome brewery that focuses on craft beer using local ingredients. My favorite was Granola Brown…YUM!
Hard to believe that this weekend is the unofficial end of summer, but there are a lot of fun events coming up in the fall. runDisney races, the Disney Fit Challenge, Epcot International Food & Wine Festival just to name a few! Oh boy! What are you most excited about?
Have a RAD week 🙂

Who’s getting ready for Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend?? The fun kicks off this Thursday and I know many of you are headed out west to run those magical miles. I’ve put together all of the information you need to know for the weekend…check it out here. I won’t be there this year, but I can’t wait to follow along with all the festivities…best of luck!!
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about organization and efficiency of time. I’ve got A LOT going on these days and I’m always looking for a way to get more done and use my time more wisely. Here are some of the methods I’m currently using, but more importantly I want to hear what you do. Let’s share secrets!
Other things from this week…Pete stopped by to share his transformation story that took him from athlete to obese smoker and back again, and Hannah broke down all the running gear you will ever need for each season…great tips there!
Today I’m headed to one of my favorite places…Disney’s Vero Beach Resort! This is our annual Disney Beach House trip with some of our great friends. It will be a week of beach, sun, kayaking, food, fun and laughs…can’t wait!!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Busy week here on Running at Disney!! So much good stuff going on…Tink Half, transformations, Disney songs, Anaheim antics, gearing up for the Disneyland Half AND a giveaway! But first, let’s talk about the Disney Fit Challenge.
The event is now 6 weeks out, flights have been booked, ADRs have been made, so it seems like the perfect time for Disney Sports to make some major schedule changes right? Sigh… The competition is now going to have 5 workouts spread over 2 days. While I’m excited for the additional workout, this is now cutting into my Food & Wine time…hmmmm, not sure how I feel about that.
So how about Tink, huh? After selling out in record time the past few years, it’s pretty amazing that there are still spots available for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon AND the all new Pixie Dust Challenge almost a week later. This leads me to wonder…has runDisney finally added to many races to their roster that the demand is starting to go down? Or is it the move to Mother’s Day Weekend the cause for a lack in registrations? Don’t get me wrong, the entire race weekend will sell out, but just not as quickly as we’ve come accustomed to. What are your thoughts?
Some of the other stuff going on this week…Sarah (not me) stopped by to share her transformation story, I took a look at my favorite and not so favorite songs from Disney animated films and John compared two theme park races in this month’s Anaheim Antics.
I’m still looking for contributors to cover Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend if you are running any of the races or even going as a spectator. You can see the list of topics that are still available here or just email me anything you are thinking!
And lastly, don’t forget to check out this cool giveaway I found for a Reebok Maleficent Prize Pack…perfect for back to school!
Make sure to check back this week for a new transformation and an update on Hannah’s marathon mission. Have a great week!

So the Pixie Dust Challenge early registration sold out in 15 minutes this week. Just when I thought that races couldn’t sell out any faster, they do. It’s quite amazing to see how this has changed in the past few years and I’m constantly baffled by it. Regular registration for Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend open at noon this Tuesday. If you have any hopes of getting into one of the races, particularly the Pixie Dust Challenge, I would be ready and waiting at your computer. Let’s just hope the system don’t crash like it did for the Princess registration!
Speaking of upcoming races in Disneyland, did you see the medals that were revealed for the Avengers Half Marathon Weekend this week? I’m pretty jealous I won’t be getting one of these!
With runDisney race season about to kick into high gear, make sure to check out the great Yoga for Runners tips that Danielle shared this week on Hotel Room Yoga. We first talked about this last year during Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend and given that it is now only less than 3 weeks away, these will definitely help everyone heading out to run that weekend.
This has been a VERY busy week for me full of meetings and projects…all a very good busy! I did take some time to take a look at my favorite things about the CrossFit Games and I also celebrated my 2 year anniversary doing CrossFit. It’s pretty cool to see how far I’ve come!
Lastly I relived my recent Disneyland trip and how I completely have fallen in love with the west coast park. I mean, how can you not love this?!?!
Check back tomorrow where I will have all of the details for you to register for the races over Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend and good luck to everyone who will be waiting to register!
Also coming up this week is another Transformation Tuesday story, a look at Disney animated movie songs in Kill, Refurb, Marry, and John is back with some fun Anaheim Antics! Hope you enjoy and have a great week!!

So as I’ve been going through my photos from California this week, I realized I took over 1,000 photos. I think I have a problem 🙂 I have a few posts coming up in the next few weeks exploring my new love of Disneyland. Yes, that’s right I officially fell in love with Disneyland this trip…a VERY different experience from Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend last year.
In the meantime, enjoy this full ride through of Radiator Springs Racers from our trip!
runDisney also revealed the medals for this year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. I love the spinner design of the Wine & Dine Half medal, but I’m really not a fan of the ribbon. What do you think?
Also this week Julia stopped by to share her transformation story and I shared some photos from our trip to the CrossFit Games. Check it out!
Hope you’ve had a great week and that you make this one RAD!!
