RAD Recap for April 27, 2014

My first week of self employment was a HUGE success! I started putting many wheels in motion, got my office set up and I feel truly happy for the first time in a very long time.
My new coworkers are super nice and extremely helpful.
The beginning of the week and this new journey was overshadowed by the loss of someone very dear to me. While I feel happy and satisfied, this has been a major blow and very difficult to deal with. However, I know that she is guiding me through this journey and giving me the strength to move forward. Lee taught me so much and I would never be who I am or where I am today without her.
Spring has finally arrived in the Northeast after what was the longest winter ever, and I have a serious case of spring fever. I got out and explored a gorgeous nature preserve nearby this week and I also actually started running again after a 2 month hiatus. It felt great!
Spring also means the start of great events and festivals around Connecticut. I went to Spring Haven this weekend which was a great gathering of local artisans. My calendar is filling up with events for the next few months…it’s so nice to be out of hibernation!
It’s hard to believe that spring is just starting and so many were looking ahead to January this week. Registration for the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend opened this week and most of the races sold our within hours, which is becoming the norm these days. The only races still available are the Walt Disney World Marathon (70% full) and Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge (55% full). I’m sure these will sell out in the next week or so, so if you are interested in partaking you should get registered soon!
runDisney confirmed this week that there will be new medals for ALL the races over Marathon Weekend, including the 10th Anniversary Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge medal that was released a few days ago. Can’t wait to see what those are going to be like!
Coming up this week, I will have a great giveaway for you from Tutu-da-loo that you won’t wan to miss and I will be taking a look at why finishing last for a runDisney race is sometimes just as good as finishing first!
Best of luck to everyone headed to Walt Disney World this week for the Expedition Everest Challenge. I can’t wait to follow along as you battle the Yeti!
