Registration opens today at noon for the 2014 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend!  This will be the 5th Anniversary of this annual “Runner’s Night Out” and I’m sure will prove to be better than ever!  It’s always a good time when you end a races with a Food & Wine Festival, right?!

All running events take place on Saturday, November 8th beginning with Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K at 7:00 am at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  (Here’s a great review of that race from last year!)  Later that morning at the New Balance Track & Field Complex, located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (WWOS), are the Kids Races with the dashes starting at 10:00 am and the 1-mile run at 10:45 am.  And if that’s not enough running for one day, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon starts at 10:00 pm at WWOS.  This nighttime race takes runners through Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and finishes at Epcot…the only Disney Half Marathon to take you through 3 parks!

  1. My husband and I will be running the 5K and the half this year for the first time! So excited!

  2. I just registered. Is the finish line party worth it? My husband isn’t a runner but is coming. I’m not sure what to do. Thanks! It is my first Disney race, I can’t wait…..

    • I’ve been to the Finish Line Party both as a spectator and a runner…it really is a lot of fun. It really will depend on if you will want to stick around Epcot after the race. He can always go to the party early while you are running and get on most rides with little to no lines. Plus the entire F&W festival will be open to enjoy.

      • Thanks!! I got him the ticket. Everything all booked. Here I am hoping summer will arrive as I STILL stare at snow. And I’m counting down to wine&dine.

  3. Admission to the finish line party is included? So it would be only necessary to purchase tickets for spectators then? Wow, they really should clarify that! I wonder his many people register to run AND buy tickets for the party?!? Does everyone just walk around all sweaty?? 🙂

    • Yes, admission to the Finish Line Party is included with your race registration. You are right, it is not 100% clear, but it is mentioned on the runDisney site.

And yes, I guess most people do walk around all sweaty 🙂 I pack a change of clothes and check that at bag check to change into. I walked pretty far into Future World to find a bathroom to change in as most of the bathrooms around the entrance have long lines. Definitely worth it 🙂

      • I JUST saw that on the rundisney site. That kind of makes it such a super deal that I just can’t pass it up. 🙂 Hope to see you there!
