Friday Feast: DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays 2012

Is anyone else in total disbelief that it is now the holiday season??  It seems to come faster every year!  If you’re a Disney fan, you know that Walt Disney World has been in full holiday mode since early November.  Now, I’m admittedly not the biggest fan of the holidays, but Disney can’t help but put even the biggest Grinch in the holiday spirit.  How can you not be just a little moved by the Osborne Lights??

While I tend to avoid Walt Disney World during this time of year because it is so busy, I was able to enjoy some of the festivities while down for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon.  Before I went, I got a copy of DFB  Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays e-Book to help me experience some of the specialty dining options going on.

The DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays e-Book features all the info you need to know before you head to the world for the holidays, to touring strategies, how to avoid lines during the busiest time of the year and a very helpful FAQ section. Included in this edition are several fun bonus items:

  • Four themed holiday crawls, including one for seasonal beverages (that’s right up my alley!)
  • Customized Holiday Touring Strategies for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney resort gingerbread displays, and more
  • Suggestions for the best restaurants to visit when you don’t have a reservation…on the busiest days of the year
  • A full section on great holiday activities and events for kids
  • And more!

If you’re unfamiliar with the holiday happenings at Walt Disney World, the Guide is a great introduction to all of the activities you can find around the resort.  Not only are there tips on how and where to book your holiday dining, but there  is very detailed information on the various ticketed events, transportation and even where to meet Santa Claus!

Looking for your favorite holiday treats in the parks?  Need that egg nog fix after a long day of touring?  This is your go to source to find them!  All of the holiday menu additions are included in the restaurant descriptions.  Did you know that Sleepy Hollow Refreshments offers seasonal ice cream flavors??

My favorite part about the holidays in Walt Disney World are the resorts.  Each one is elaborately decorated in the  theme for that resort.  Some of the deluxe resorts even have huge holiday displays, most of which are edible.  The most noteworthy is the life-size gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian where you can actually buy a shingle of gingerbread!

These are just a few snippets of information from the 235 page guide…there is so much more!  Good news, the folks over at the Disney Food Blog have been nice enough to offer a discount for you RAD Readers out there!  You can receive $3 off your purchase of the DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays e-Book by using the discount code HOLIDAY.  That’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit :)

All books come with with a 100% money-back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose!  But trust me you won’t want to give it back.  Find out more about the DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays e-Book here!
