Ahh Hurricane Sandy…so looking forward to meeting you! Ok that’s a lie. Since I live only about a 1/2 mile from the Long Island Sound, chances are we’re going to get hit pretty hard. Thankfully we live up on a hill, so flooding isn’t typically a concern for our home but wind is a big concern. We’re hoping for the best and have made the necessary preparations. That includes moving all of the patio furniture into the dining room!
I’ve got a big batch of Coq Au Vin in the slow cooker so we can have some good comfort food during the storm and I’m about to make some gluten free brownies. Oh yeah…bring it Sandy!

I had a great week at CrossFit and hit a few new PRs! It was testing this week and it was pretty cool to see how far I’ve come in less than 3 months. What’s up 133# dead lift?!

Sunday: 6.4 mile run
Tuesday: 3.1 mile run and CrossFit – 1 hour – hang cleans, bench press, romanian dead lifts & air dyne
Wednesday: CrossFit – 1 hour – Thrusters, jumping pull ups & running
Thursday: CrossFit – 1 hour – Dead lifts & sprints
Besides having a great week in the box, I didn’t go for my planned 14-miler this weekend for 2 reasons. 1. My ankle has been bothering me again since the sprints on Thursday. 2. I just wasn’t feeling it…plain and simple. Yes, I know that I need to just do it and get those runs in, but if there is one thing I know about me, it that if my head isn’t in it I’m not going to enjoy it. And I find running difficult enough as it is, so I rather not struggle through 14 miles. I think I’ve come to the realization this past week that the 2013 WDW Marathon will probably be my one and only. Races are one thing, but I just don’t enjoy these long training runs! But that’s a story for another post…
