Disney Races Are Filling Up Fast!

Since all of the runDisney events coming up seem to be filling up quickly, I thought I’d give you an update on the races that are coming up in the next year.  You don’t want to miss out on the fun, so if you haven’t registered already…do it NOW!

As you can see, all of the major races that are currently on sale are either sold out or over 50% full.  There is still plenty of room in most of the Family Fun Run 5Ks and the Kid’s Races, which take place on almost all of the race weekend.

Is it just me or do these races seem to be filling up faster than usual?  It’s very exciting that running and Disney races are increasing in popularity!  I’m interested on what the next step is for Disney Sports when it comes to the runDisney races.  Will they increase the capacity of the races?  Will there be more races in our future?  Only time will tell, but I can’t wait to see!

What would you like to see next for runDisney races?

  1. I would like to see a run for men and their sons as a corrollary to the Princess and Tinkerbell Half Marathons. Maybe a Pirate Half.

  2. the pirate theme would be awesome! I can already picture everyone dressed as pirates and running the race! Personally, I would LOVE to do the Expedition Everest Challenge. The description makes it sound like it’s not only a 5k but there are some scavenger hunt elements to it as well.

I think it would be cool if Disney started to incorporate other elements into their runs like obstacle courses etc. They don’t do that right now do they? Not that I could ever do anything like that, but it would be cool if they did some sort of challenges that were similar to the “muddy buddy” challenges, etc.

    • That’s a great idea Marci! A Disneyfied Tough Mudder! :)

The only thing that has obstacles now is the Expedition Everest Challenge and they ate pretty easy in comparison to those other races.

  3. First off, it’s so cool to me that there are already tons of disney runners blogging! Didn’t even know that when i started (a few weeks ago!). This is exciting that it seems they are gaining in popularity. This will be my first time running at disney, and my first marathon, so naturally i’m super excited! :-) Looking forward to reading more!

  4. I can’t wait until my first Run Disney race! When I first signed up for the DL Half, I was shocked at how fast they fill (as well as how much support comes from the Run Disney runners..I think that’s the best part). After my races I’m sure I’ll have a few race ideas, but for now I’m happy with the current races and hope one day to complete them all

    • Congrats on your first Disney race!! I’m sure you are going to rock the DL Half!
The community really is one of the best things about running Disney races. I have met some amazing people. Good luck and make sure to let us know how you did!

  5. Ive had a desire to run a half for a couple of years now (only 5Ks so far, none at Disney) and decided it would be Disney Princess. The first of this year, I decided 2013 would be my race year. When I saw that registration would open in a few short weeks, I started researching more.

Because of the community and the enthusiasm of past participants, I’m now officially obsessed. I can’t wait!

  6. […] 4, 2012 so mark your calendars if you are registered for that race!  Remember, these races are filling up fast, so if you’re not already registered…hop to […]
